DiveBeacon was inspired by an experience no diver ever expects to have.
After an enjoyable dive, one of our founders surfaced expecting to see the dive boat waiting nearby. Instead, the boat was gone.
While the group was underwater, another diver began experiencing chest pains. Concerned that it could be a heart attack, the divemaster made the urgent decision to return to shore with the diver, leaving the rest of the group unaware of what had happened.
When the remaining divers surfaced, they found themselves alone in open water, with no boat in sight and no way of knowing when it would return.
Fortunately, everyone made it back safely. But the experience raised an important question:
What if divers could be alerted to a change in plans and guided directly back to their boat, even while underwater?
That question became the foundation for DiveBeacon.
We set out to address a critical gap in dive safety by developing a system designed to help divers stay connected to their boat and navigate back to it when plans change. Because when you're underwater, clear communication and knowing where to go can make all the difference.
At DiveBeacon, our mission is to make underwater directionalization and emergency response safer, simpler, and more intuitive.
Through our patented DiveBeacon/DiveVisor technology, we're bringing a new dimension of confidence to diving by helping divers find their way back to their boat or point of entry, locate fellow divers in distress, and respond to unexpected situations…. all without unnecessarily surfacing.
We believe innovative safety technology should benefit everyone: the divers who rely on it, the dive professionals responsible for them, and the operators committed to providing exceptional diving experiences.
Because the best dive stories are the ones where everyone makes it back to share them.
DiveBeacon is committed to working with the diving community—operators, instructors, dive shops, certification organizations, and divers themselves—to pioneer a new generation of underwater safety technology.
By challenging conventional thinking and applying patented innovations to longstanding diving challenges, we aim to establish a new standard for intuitive underwater navigation, communication, and emergency response.
Our vision is not simply to improve what exists, but to introduce capabilities that change what is possible and what divers should expect.
