Additionally, built-in to the system is the ability to initiate an emergency signal for fellow divers to directly locate a diver in distress also wearing DiveBeacon's DiveVisor. If the diver is on the surface, a UHF signal will be initiated for triangulation by the boat.
A bright LED will also be illuminated to assist locating the diver.

The mask will be addressable prior to a dive, by a Smartphone App to check LED function, adjust brightness, check battery level, and other critical functions.

The red indicators work in the same way to direct a diver to a buddy in distress or to find a lost mask. 3D accelerometers in the mask will determine if the mask is motionless for a predetermined period of time and automatically initiate the emergency mode.

The triangulation of the source of the homing beacon is accomplished by the sensors on the DiveVisor. These incoming signals are processed to light the respective indicator showing the direction to the homing beacon.

If the diver is moving directly away from the boat, the left and right LEDs furthest from the center will illuminate alternately. As the diver heads toward the source, the LEDs will correspondingly switch to the center most positions.
